From hitting the stage alongside none other than Keith Urban, to playing the Deni Ute Muster, at just 17 years old, Jamie Preston has never been afraid to jump in boots first.
The contemporary country artist from South-West Sydney has been performing from the age of 11, and first picked up a guitar after being inspired by the sounds of Johnny B. Goode in the iconic film Back To The Future when he was just 9 years old.
Jamie has been influenced by the sounds of Keith Urban, Morgan Wallen, Dan + Shay, Cody Johnson and Morgan Evans.
A graduate of the prestigious CMAA Junior Academy, he has been mentored by the cream of the Australian country music crop and performs at venues across NSW.
In 2020, Jamie was a Top 10 busking finalist at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. In the same year, a video of Jamie’s was chosen by Keith Urban and featured on Keith’s TikTok page where he sang a duet with him.
Jamie was the winner in the senior category of the inaugural McDonald’s Golden Gig Competition at the TCMF in 2022, and also won the Today’s Country 94.1fm’s Brand New Star Competition.
In December of 2022, Jamie was called up on stage by Keith Urban at Qudos Bank Arena to perform a song with Keith for his “The Speed of Now World Tour”. In September 2023, Jamie played the iconic Deni Ute Muster for the first time.
He has opened shows for and played alongside various artists including Shannon Noll, Thirsty Merc, Casey Barnes, Travis Collins, Adam Harvey, McAlister Kemp, Lyn Bowtell, Amber Lawrence, Blake O’Connor, Bill Chambers, Christie Lamb, Hayley Jensen, Darlinghurst, Reece Mastin and Canadian trio Petric.
Jamie dreams big for the future and is determined to make his mark on the global country music scene.
